Greymatter Vestlandet

In this book, we reflect on our journey exploring the complexities of aging. From personal commitment to a broad initiative and Master studio with Bergen Architecture School on the West coast, we share insights to inspire a dialogue on creating inclusive, multigenerational communities.

Greymatter Vestland is a master’s course at Bergen School of Architecture in the fall of 2021. The students explore the aging landscape from city to periphery. In collaboration with several municipalities, the course aims to engage in a meaningful dialogue about the current situation in various locations within Vestland County and questions the future of aging in these areas. This chapter showcases some of these projects and how the students approach the task.

Other activities are part of the publication, such as late-summer dinner event at BAS inviting expert in health and city development to talk in a public audience, or the transcript of our Film documentary Greymatter Bergen that received international attention.
