Safety and medical accessories are function-oriented and often soulless.
Can’t we imagine that safety accessories could also look domestic and reflect our changing lifestyle in an exciting and beautiful way?
It is not because I can’t jump out of the bath anymore that my house needs to look like a hospital room.
The idea of beauty should have no age and growing old should not necessarily result in the medicalisation of our habitat.
By starting with the micro scale, elements we touch every day, is it possible to shape them so that they help to stimulate memory and a sense of belonging?
Shaping objects that everyone would want to have at home or in care-home without age borders, breaking the threshold between object for kids, sport practice and medical tools.
Can we approach them as familiar forms for an inclusive design of our domestic space that are useful during the evolving needs of our lifetime?
We would like to shape the wood that will adapt to our body shapes, investigating its tactility and its behaviour while accumulating the traces of our movements.
Engagement is a key element of our aging activism.
